The global busway industry is at a critical stage marked by simultaneous market expansion and standard upgrading. According to Hengzhou Chengsi Research, the global revenue of electrical busway systems reached approximately RMB 63.45 billion in 2025, and is projected to approach RMB 95.58 billion by 2032, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.1% from 2026 to 2032. Data from Gongyan Industrial Research Institute forecasts that global sales will hit USD 13.8 billion in 2026, with smart busways for data centers and new energy supporting facilities emerging as the fastest-growing market segments.
Hand-in-hand with market growth is the rising threshold for compliance. National standard GB/T 33346-2025, *Conductive Rails for Wind Power (Compact Busway)*, was officially implemented on February 1, 2026. It rolls out stringent wind-power-grade technical requirements to a broader range of industrial and civil applications. CQC voluntary certification and traceable type test reports have become de facto entry requirements for projects.
Product technology routes are also undergoing rapid differentiation. Compact busways maintain their dominant market share thanks to their compact structure and high current-carrying capacity. Meanwhile, demand for high-density power supply and flexible capacity expansion in data centers is driving rapid adoption of DC busways, aluminum-conductor busways for data centers, and intelligent tap-off units integrated with temperature sensing and current monitoring. Products rated at ≥1000 A are growing increasingly important for high-density scenarios. Harsh environments including outdoor sites, chemical plants and transportation infrastructure fuel demand for IP68 cast-resin busways and high-fire-resistance products. Fire-resistant busways capable of continuous power supply for 180 minutes at 950°C are seeing noticeably higher deployment rates in critical infrastructure.
In terms of competition dynamics, the industry is shifting from simple conductor manufacturing toward competition centered on comprehensive capabilities covering complete power distribution architecture, digital management and full-lifecycle services. The adoption of BIM-aided design and standardized prefabricated modules is also reshaping project delivery efficiency.
