Driven by the New Infrastructure initiative, data center expansion, and the "Dual Carbon" strategy, China's busway industry has entered a new stage of high-quality development in 2026. According to the latest industry data, the domestic market size is expected to exceed RMB 19 billion, with an annual growth rate stable at over 8%. Domestic brands have, for the first time, captured more than 60% of the market share, and in high-end segments such as smart and fire-resistant busways, their share has surpassed 75%, fundamentally reshaping the traditional pattern dominated by foreign capital.

Technological innovation has become the core of industry competition. A new generation of busways is upgrading from traditional power transmission equipment to "intelligent power distribution nodes." Equipped with IoT sensing modules, they enable millisecond-level collection and early warning of current, temperature rise, and insulation status, achieving a 50% faster response speed than traditional products. Technologies such as laser seam welding, high-purity oxygen-free copper conductors, and low-smoke halogen-free insulation materials are widely applied, bringing core indicators such as temperature rise control and short-circuit withstand strength to internationally advanced levels. Simultaneously, demand for specialized busways-including cast resin, fire-resistant, and waterproof types-has surged to meet the demanding requirements of data centers, new energy power stations, and rail transit.

The clustering effect of the industry has become evident, with complete industrial chains forming in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Sichuan, and other provinces. Leveraging localized supply chains and rapid delivery capabilities (7–10 days), domestic companies have comprehensively surpassed foreign brands in both cost and response speed. Leading enterprises such as WETOWN Electric, CHINT, and Jiangsu Yineneng are deeply engaged in smart and green technologies, winning bids for national projects like Alibaba's Data Center and the Three Gorges Project. This progress is propelling domestic busways from being a "low-to-mid-end supplement" to taking a "high-end leading" role.

With the mandatory implementation of the new national standard GB7251.6-2025, industry standards have been comprehensively upgraded, and it is estimated that 15% of outdated production capacity will be phased out. Looking ahead, the busway industry will continue to evolve towards intelligence, modularity, and green development, becoming the core support for efficient, safe, and low-carbon power distribution within the new power system and digital economy.
