Engineering companies are coming up with this AR system for installing busways, and it looks like its making a big difference in how things get built. Workers use smart glasses or other devices to get guidance thats pretty straightforward, which helps boost the quality and speed of the whole process.

When they put on the AR glasses, they see all this extra info overlaid on the real site, like 3D models of the busways, the right axes for installation, sequences for tightening bolts, and even the torque specs needed. The system spots obstacles around the place too, figures out the best path automatically, and warns about any collisions that might happen. I think thats the part that really stands out, because in messy setups with complex paths, it bumps up efficiency by about 50 percent and cuts errors down by 80 percent, at least from what the data shows.

It also ties the design side right into management somehow, recording data as they go along with timestamps for key steps, and then it spits out these digital reports. All that links back to the BIM model, so later for operations and maintenance, you have solid info on the assets. This feels like it makes things less dependent on super skilled technicians, and the process gets more standard overall.

Especially where spaces are tight with lots of pipelines, AR shines more, sort of pulling the installation away from just relying on old experience toward something digital and regulated. Its been used in some big projects already, but Im not totally sure how widespread it will get yet.
