China Unicom officially launched the annual centralized procurement of low-voltage compact busducts in May 2025. This procurement project covers a total scale of 36,429 meters, encompassing ten complete current ratings ranging from 630A, 800A, 1000A up to 5000A, as well as supporting accessories. The tender announcement for the project was released on April 29, and the bid evaluation was completed on May 22 with the list of candidate winning bidders publicly announced, attracting the participation of numerous leading enterprises in the electrical industry.

The tender documents have set comprehensive and stringent requirements for the products. They not only explicitly stipulate that the bidding products must obtain national mandatory product certification and comply with relevant energy efficiency standards but also establish rigid indicators for core dimensions including technical performance, quality reliability, and energy-saving efficiency. Meanwhile, a maximum bid price limit has been set-any bid exceeding this limit will be directly rejected, so as to ensure the high cost-effectiveness and supply stability of the procured products.

Industry analysts point out that such large-scale centralized procurement by major telecom operators serves as a crucial leading indicator for the accelerated construction of digital infrastructure such as data centers. Currently, with the rapid development of digital industries including 5G, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, the demand for data center construction has been significantly driven up. As a core power distribution product in data center rooms, compact busducts maintain strong sustained market demand.

Data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) shows that by the end of 2024, the number of standard racks in in-service computing power centers across the country had exceeded 8.8 million. Although specific figures vary slightly under different statistical standards, they generally fall within the range of 8.3 million to 9 million, with a year-on-year growth rate of approximately 16.5%. This steady growth momentum will be directly transmitted to the supporting equipment market including busducts. China Unicom's current centralized procurement not only provides strong support for its own network construction but also brings substantial market opportunities for busduct manufacturers with technological advantages, driving the industry toward high-quality development.
