Vertical elbows of bus ducts are key components in the bus duct system for changing the direction of bus bars, playing an important role in scenarios such as passing through floors. There are mainly two ways to handle the conductors of such elbows: one is integral cutting, which involves direct cutting and processing on a complete copper plate. Its advantage is that the molecular structure of the conductor remains intact, avoiding the problem of local stress concentration caused by welding, and at the same time reducing the additional increase in contact resistance. The other is welding and splicing, which combines two copper bars through welding. In practical applications, this processing method is more used for the processing of vertical elbows with large current specifications, and its significant advantage is that it can effectively reduce material consumption. Although the costs of the two processing methods are slightly different, neither will have an impact on the current-carrying capacity of the product.

 

Elbow Types

 

1.L-Type Busway Vertical Elbows:

This type of elbow enables 90° spatial direction changes in the busway system. Its manufacturing process is more complex compared to horizontal elbows, yet there are no significant differences between the two in terms of protection rating, current-carrying capacity, and other key performance indicators.

2.Z-Type Busway Vertical Elbows:

Structurally, this type of Z-shaped vertical elbow is equivalent to a combination of two L-type vertical elbows. Its main function is that it can not only flexibly bypass obstacles such as beams, columns and pipelines in buildings, but also keep the original current transmission direction of the busway unchanged while completing the spatial detour, ensuring that electricity still flows stably along the preset path in complex wiring environments.
