Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL), a global leader in power batteries, was granted a utility model patent titled "Busbar Trunking System, Power Distribution System, and Battery Production System" on October 28, 2025. This technological breakthrough is no coincidence but a targeted innovation addressing pain points in battery production scenarios. As a high-precision manufacturing field, battery production involves non-linear loads such as formation equipment and coating machines, which generate high-order harmonics that can lead to a relatively high total harmonic distortion (THD) of current. This severely impacts power distribution stability and product yield rates.

Patent documents reveal that the core innovation lies in the direct integration of a filtering unit into the internal structure of the busbar trunking system. Through a first conductive bar inside the protective casing, the incoming line unit and load-bearing unit are connected in series. The built-in filter can real-time monitor harmonic currents and generate reverse compensation currents to counteract interference. Compared with traditional external filtering solutions, this design is more compact, perfectly adapting to the high-density power distribution needs of battery plants and highly aligning with the industry's intelligent development trend.

Notably, CATL has previously laid out related patents such as emergency connection devices for busbar trunking systems, and this innovation represents a continuous upgrade of its power distribution technology system. Industry observers point out that this cross-border micro-innovation reflects an underlying trend: with standards like GB/T 7251.6-2022 incorporating intelligent monitoring into mandatory requirements, downstream application terminals' demands for power distribution quality have evolved from "on-off guarantee" to "precision governance." This approach of deeply integrating basic power distribution products with scenario-specific power quality needs provides a new paradigm for the busbar trunking industry to break through homogeneous competition, and also validates the growth logic behind the 30 billion yuan market scale of intelligent busbar systems.
